snapshots in power bi premium
Hi everyone. im working with a client on a solution using power bi premium. They want a daily snapshot of the fact table. I have been trying to set this up for days and it just doesnt seem to append data to the partition. instead overwrites it. My pipeline is setup as follows: apiIssue incremental refresh enabled - pulls data from jira. incremental refresh is working fine here only refreshing the data updated if the updatedDateTime changes and data gets appended providing multiple records per jiraId dbIssue references apiIssue and does cleaning/transformations (no inc refresh enabled) factIssue references dbIssue and removes any column not required for the fact table (no inc refresh enabled) factIssueSnapshot references factIssue and has incremental refresh enabled refreshing 1 day and save data for 2 years based on a snapshotDateTime which is being added in this dataflow. Its frustrating because you have to wait until the next day to test if it worked and it never seems to! Any help appreciated! Regards Mark

Connecting to on prem oracle database
Ok so stumbling at the first hurdle here, and hoping some of you might be able to help… I am trying to connect to an on prem oracle database. I am currently connected to the network via a vpn and am able to log in to the oracle client. My next step was to connect Power BI desktop to it and start looking at the data but can’t get this to work. I’m wondering whether this is an old 32 bit server or something. My ultimate goal here is to use a copy activity in a fabric pipeline to ingest the data into my lake house. Has anyone got any tips? This is my first time working with an oracle database and it’s very clunky to say the least.
Any geospatial folks using Fabric + Azure Maps?
An interesting post from Johannes Kebeck (Group Program Manager - Azure Maps at Microsoft) on LinkedIn: " So many things you can do with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Maps: - From Event Stream over Event House into Real Time Dashboard to track your assets, - Reflex to send alerts when assets enter or leave a geofence, - Lakehouse Notebook and Azure Maps to determine speeding and perform other post-drive analysis. - ...or risk analysis with Lakehouse, Notebook and Azure Maps published into PowerBI for broader consumption. " Read more about Azure Maps. Is this something you're interested in/ implementing? Let me know your experiences! I can see this being a really useful use case for Fabric, for companies with a geospatial element

Interesting. I’m just starting a project to ingest IoT data from an engineering companies cnc machines. Was looking into azure maps and digital twins to visualise everything.
Pulling data from Azure DevOps boards
Has anyone achieved this outside of the connector which seems to be only available in power bi desktop. I want to configure a copy activity to pull data into my lake house about current work items etc.
Get value from notebook and pass to next pipeline activity
I feel like this should be easier than it seems. I’m trying to build an api call in a fabric pipeline. I have a lake house with a delta table that has a column of ID fields. Id like to iterate over each one and use the value to build an api call (one api call for each value). I’m struggling with outputting the value to the next activity, I’m trying mssparkutils and lookup activity but I can’t seem to get it. Any ideas?

@Will Needham Wow, that’s a proper workaround! Thanks I’ll save that one for future reference.

@Will Needham I’m trying to aggregate the output of these api calls into a json file. Do you have any tips? I’m trying to use an append variable activity after my copy data activity but I can’t see how to turn off the destination in the copy data activity and send the output to the append variable activity
