What are you grateful for?
So I want to invite you to think about 3 things you are grateful for, that you have experienced this week? When we reflect, we can rewire our brain to focus on the more positive things in our life. My 3 things are:
  1. That I have a garden and no matter the weather I get to experience seeing a robin, sometimes two of them, coming into the garden to eat. I can now get very close to them when feeding them and it feels magical! It calms and grounds me and allows me to marvel at the power of nature. I now take the time to be present in these moments, in the past this would not have been the case. Other practical priorities would have taken over my mind and diverted me from connecting to the present moment.
  2. Having a shower! Did you know that it was only from the 1970's that showers started to become a feature in houses ( using Scotland as an example) Yet so many of us take this for granted. How lucky are we to have access to a private space ( previously people would go to public baths), that provides hot running water to be able to wash ourselves in our own space.
  3. Having a misunderstanding with someone... both of us were confused as to why we felt bad about a situation, didn't understand each others point of view in the moment. I was grateful as the person was willing to talk about this in a calm way. We then got to understand how we both had different experiences prior to our exchange which influenced our responses. Both acknowledged we could do things differently in the future, enhancing our relationship even further. I am grateful to have such an open and honest relationship with them. Share what you are grateful for in the comments. Do you regularly think about what you are grateful for? We suggest you create this habit, daily, it is life changing! Is gratitude part of your daily routine?
