  • I had an english muffin in the toaster and went to take out the trash. My husband noticed the toaster was still on, and recognized he didn't know how toasted I would like it. So, he stopped it when the bread was lightly toasted, so that if I wanted it more toasted I could put it back in when I got back, but it wouldn't get over-toasted.
  • I told my husband I wished our laundry closet had more storage. He researched and ordered a shelf that would fit perfectly.
  • Today, I saw my partner help to emotionally regulate my toddler and waited to teach lessons learned once my toddler was calm again. This is a technique my partner is not used to doing, and I think it's mental load because he was able to remember the new technique and put it into practice as well as the emotional labor of helping my son to regulate.
  • He reminded me today that I still needed to book a hotel for our vacation in November, indicating he's been carrying the mental load of ensuring it gets done.
