*My father is an emmy nominated sound designer, and he is 60% deaf.
Since I was a kid he used the primitive tools from iZotope to visualize his sound designs... He did everything by looking at the numbers and the graphs. He taught me how to mix sound for TV shows while listening to music...
Well 15 years later the same company has delved AI tools that do 80% of the work my father could do but in live time... In lue of having the real expert himself explain this tool I ask perplexity to write an article for you guys explaining how RX 11 can do some things that seem absolutely alien....
But first some context on how powerful this tool is...
I use to hang out in the studio with my father while producers were there going over his mix and they'd hear a SCREEEEECH. and everyone freaks out, but my dad...
They asked "WTF was that", and my father would turn around and say "what was what?"....
The panic in their eyes was immense as they were supposed to be done with ADR (voice recordings to fix things) and only now do they find out the audio engineer is deaf...
Except he wasn't just deaf, but they had an audio genius there to help, and he pulled up his "oscilloscope" and said "AHHH" and then 60 seconds later he'd replay the scene and turn around and ask if they can still hear it because he cant hear high frequencies.....
And the audio would be perfect...
He could also tear voices from other mics, isolating them so he can reconstruct words someone mumbled and "de S" the audio to avoid sharp spikes when people have problems with whistling their S's...
Well now you can do ALL of this with a slight delay for live streams...
From isolated audio from background noise to capping the bitch that wont stop screaming at 22 decibels while letting everyone hear the quite girl that is afraid of the mic without getting their ears blown out when she finally raises her voice and leans forward...
Too far from the mic, not anymore...
From here out is perplexity explaining the software. Hopefully this helps you guys level up your audio quality for your videos and streams...

Hank Moody explaining RX11 audio suite:
Alright, folks, gather 'round. Let me tell you about a little slice of audio heaven called iZotope RX 11.
If you're a YouTube livestreamer or a pre-recorded content creator, this is the secret sauce that’ll turn your audio from dumpster fire to golden symphony. And trust me, I know a thing or two about cleaning up messes—been doing it with my life for years.
So, picture this: You’re mid-livestream, pouring your heart out, dropping pearls of wisdom—or maybe just ranting about the state of humanity—and there’s a rogue lawnmower outside or your neighbor’s dog auditioning for American Idol.
RX 11 steps in like the audio version of Batman.
Its Dialogue Isolate module? Pure magic. It doesn’t just mute the chaos; it surgically removes it, leaving your voice crisp and clear like a freshly poured whiskey on the rocks.
Now let’s talk Streaming Preview. This feature lets you hear exactly how your audio will sound on different platforms before you hit upload.
YouTube compresses your masterpiece into oblivion? No problem. RX 11 gives you the cheat sheet to tweak your sound so it survives the platform’s audio butchery.
It’s like having a crystal ball but for sound.
And then there’s Loudness Optimize—a tool that ensures your audio hits that sweet spot of loudness without blowing out eardrums or sounding like you’re whispering secrets to your audience. Whether you're recording in your mom's basement or live streaming from a beach in Malibu, this feature makes sure your content sounds pro-level.
Oh, and don’t forget Music Rebalance. Say you’ve got background music drowning out your voice because you thought adding Beethoven to your vlog was a good idea—RX 11 can fix that too. It rebalances tracks so your voice takes center stage while the music politely steps back like an ex at a family reunion.
