My most memorable client interaction from this week would have to be with a client I worked with just yesterday. At the beginning of the call she was very upset and in distress. She is on many medications, has quite a few health conditions, and sees a few specialists as well. She lost her Medicaid eligibility in January and was dropped from her D-SNP plan in February, which left her without an advantage plan and no food/otc benefits that she had become reliant on. I was able to calm her down and promised we were in this together and that I would do my very best to find her an advantage plan that would provide her with the coverage she needs as well as look for some additional spending benefits. We were able to determine she was eligible for a C-SNP plan and found a very good one in her area which provided a pretty impressive amount on the food/otc card and a low co-payment for her specialty care. Her highest co-payment on her medications is $1.40 as she is LIS eligible. By the end of the call she was no longer stressed and was very grateful and thanked me for my kindness. The highlight of the call was when the client's daughter said "Wow, mom. This lady really cares".
