🩺 Midjourney Enters Healthcare with a Futuristic Full-Body Scanner

Most people know Midjourney for AI-generated images. Now, the company is stepping into healthcare with an ambitious new project: the Midjourney Scanner, a full-body ultrasound imaging system designed to capture a 3D view of the human body in around 60 seconds.

🔍 What makes it different?

Uses 40 ultrasound-on-chip modules developed with Butterfly Network.
Creates detailed 3D images of muscles, fat, bones, and organs using ultrasound instead of magnets or radiation.
A scan takes about one minute.
The company hopes it can eventually be used for preventive health monitoring and body composition tracking.

🤔 "MRI is old and complicated"?

During the launch, CEO David Holz suggested that MRI technology is complex and expressed a vision that future versions of the scanner could outperform MRI in some situations. However, these are future goals, not proven clinical results. The scanner is not yet approved for medical diagnosis, and many of its capabilities still require validation and regulatory clearance.
