The Kumbartcho or Hoop Pine Native to Australia.
I’d love to share with everyone if I may, an amazing Native Tree here in Australia, the Traditional Aboriginal Name being Kumbartcho. This beautiful tree has been around since the Dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The Hoop Pine as she is commonly known, sheds her bark horizontally and underneath the rough exterior on the underside of the bark is a beautiful golden to deep copper colour, and the bark is shiny and smooth so it literally glows in the sunlight. Her sap was used Traditionally as glue,it was collected with thanks, gently kneaded between the warmth of the fingers until soft and was then applied to tools and water carriers. The Hoop Pine with her colours so rich is associated with the Sun and Fire, the giver of life. I was gifted some of her bark a few days back, which is pictured below. I keep her bark and use it in my candle magick. She grows here in the backyard ✨ What amazing trees are near you?

Fairyland vs. The Woodland Creatures
I made these tiny string lights for my Fairyland and have been loving my little daily visits to check on the progress for my Pop-Up event on June 13. Well… apparently the local wildlife has also been visiting. Today I arrived to discover complete chaos. The string lights were chewed. All five acorns had lost their lights. There was fur all over the ground like a tiny woodland crime scene. At this point, I think a squirrel, raccoon, or some other furry contractor decided my Fairyland needed “renovations.” My Fairyland is about 150 feet away from the house, so apparently I have opened an all-you-can-eat buffet for forest creatures. My father suggested covering it with chicken wire, which means my magical Fairyland may soon look like a maximum-security fairy prison. I guess I can’t leave it unprotected if I still want to enjoy visiting it every day. Has anyone else had woodland creatures declare war on their outdoor decorations?
