Fantasy Bedroom
I started a bedroom for my granddaughter when she was 2, and it’s evolved somewhat. Come the weekend, I’ll be upgrading her bed, from a single to a double or I think you in America call it a twin? But this is her room as it is now. I will be making it a little more “grown up” as she will be 10 later on in the year. I am hoping that she will still love the fae folk as her Nan does. :) Never underestimate a free wooden bed head and end, bush branches for the canopy, and a lovely photo backdrop! I also made the quilt. :)

I stayed over last night. And she read me a fairy story, before lights out! But the bed is done. Now to make the quilt. We went to a crystals and curio exhibition market. Someone got a beautiful henna…. Nana is officially broke!!!

@Janet Merz if it helps someone elses children or family, then it’s absolutely worth it. If it’s small children, you could have fairys for girls, dragons for boys.. or other fantasy creatures. It doesn’t matter really at the end of the day, as long as they can write a letter back, it’s getting it out of their heads and into the ether where something else can take it on. Im a big believer that “tell the world outside” what’s happening of the trauma of the individual, and it’s a shared thing. It doesn’t negate it, but it helps to lessen the burden. :)

Fairy playground
It was suggested i create a fairy playground, I made a swing already, so I added a slide and a teeter totter.

My Dad used to make these. He was in the nursery industry from age 14 till he passed away at almost 89, last year. They’re a lovely set of baskets, and your orchids are going to love them!
Suggestions for outdoor fairy house tips
I am going to enter a contest to build a fairy house for the Michigan Renaissance Festival. I have a month to design and construct something. I’ve never built anything but one of Mary’s kits! It said not to use hot glue- does it not hold up well outside? Appreciate any tips anyone has. I’m nervous but excited! 😆

I can’t wait to see what you create. Good luck with your entry. :) I don’t have Titebond here, but I’d use something like silicone as well. Hot glue doesn’t hold up very well here in the warmer weather. And it’s not much good in the wet either. It goes white. I look forward to seeing what you make. :)

I love the creativity of us, the Secret Keepers. Keeping fantasy alive for children, is something I've always loved.
