Macros (Macronutrients) are what fuel our bodies for our basic needs, down to the cellar level! Protein, Carbohydrates and Fat. Macros are different for everyone! Carbohydrates: The energy we burn throughout the day. Carbs are the instant energy source for our body. They also aid in digestion (fiber), support heart health, and allow energy to be stored in muscle, and our liver. Whether we're working out or just living, we NEED carbs! Fat: Our secondary, long term, energy source! Once we run through our carbs, we start to burn Fat for energy! It also allows the body to absorb vitamins, insulate organs, and produce hormones! All that to say, a balanced diet is ideal, even in a calorie deficit!
