Building a Brand
When starting a trash bin cleaning business, it’s easy to fall into the expectation that everyone within your service area will immediately flock to your company and sign up to have their trash bins cleaned. The reality is that it simply doesn’t work that way.
The solution is to build local awareness and consistently communicate three things:
  1. The service exists.
  2. You are a local business.
  3. You can solve a problem that homeowners may not even realize can be solved.
A major part of creating that awareness is getting people to think about having their trash bins cleaned. This is where visual marketing becomes extremely important. When someone sees a dirty trash bin, it creates an opportunity to introduce them to the idea that there is a service specifically designed to clean and sanitize it.
Some effective ways to build local awareness include:
  • Door hangers
  • Regularly posting in local Facebook groups and on Nextdoor
  • Yard signs
  • Sandwich boards with advertising, especially when you are working longer jobs
The goal isn’t to rely on people randomly discovering your business. The goal is to consistently put your brand and your service in front of the people in your local market.
Building your brand locally and keeping trash bin cleaning top-of-mind is essential to creating awareness, generating demand, and ultimately growing your client base.
