When we go higher, we’re told to say “Allahu Akbar.” It reminds me that no matter how high I reach in life, I can never rise above Allah. He is always greater, always above everything.
When we go downward, we’re advised to say “SubhanAllah.” Praising Allah purifies the heart, and through that praise, Allah lifts us out of low states. It reminds me of the ayah about Yunus (AS): if he had not made tasbeeh, he would have remained in that condition until the Day of Resurrection.
