What cards describes/are associated with a period of quiet reflection?
I would say that the 4 of Swords would represent taking a break, especially a mental break, from the challenges of life.
If you're "cooking up something new," then the High Priestess might be the card that would come up to indicate things that are being created in a quiet, secret, dark, and magical place.
If you're connecting with yourself and your thoughts, and you are taking a sabbatical or have isolated yourself from others, then the Hermit would be the card that might represent your situation.
