Week 6 Challenge 🔥🎯
Hello everyone! This video is part of the Fluent and Free program, where we work extensively with the concept of before and after so you can clearly see your progress over time. For today’s activity, our main focus will be practicing intonation and rhyme. How it works: 1. Watch the video as many times as you need, focusing on the tone, rhythm, and meaning of the poem. Pay attention to how the rhymes are read and how intonation play a big role in how you understand the poem. 2. Practice reading it out loud. 3. When you feel ready, record yourself reading the poem. If you would like more guided practice, live conversation classes, live sessions with me and a variety of different video classes and challenges, the Fluent and Free program is perfect for you. We will be launching it in the next couple of weeks; if you want more information, please enter the waitlist here: https://tally.so/r/KYG78A

Week 4 Challenge
I know I’m a little late, but last Sunday was the World Cup Final! ⚽🏆 One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of people know the teams, but they don’t always know how to say the countries’ names in both Portuguese and English. So I put together this image for you! It has all the flags, the country names in Portuguese, the names in English, and the pronunciation for both languages. I also created a simple speaking template so you can practice talking about the games. 🎧 Make sure you listen to the audio I’m posting too! In it, I’ll go over the pronunciation of every country in both languages 🇺🇸🇧🇷 This week’s challenge: Record yourself saying the names of all these countries (in the language you’re learning) using the template! Also tell us which game you watched, which team you were cheering for and who won!

Week 7 Challenge
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbBoHLxov-E This week, we’re taking your English out into the real world! Many Brazilians struggle with the pronunciation of American states, and that’s completely normal! Some names are very different from what we would expect in Portuguese. Your challenge 🔥 Watch the video where you’ll hear the names of all50 U.S. states. Listen carefully, repeat the names out loud, and pay attention to the pronunciation. 👉 Don’t just watch, SPEAK! Pause the video if you need to and repeat the names until they feel more natural. This video is a gold mine for improving your pronunciation and getting more familiar with the geography of the United States. 🇺🇸 💬 NOW, TELL US: 1. Which U.S. state would you most like to visit, and why? 2. Which state name were you pronouncing incorrectly before watching the video? 3. If you could choose one place to live in the United States, which state would you choose and why? 🏡 Write them below and practice saying them out loud! 🎤
Week 3 Challenge 🇺🇸
😂 Can You Explain the Joke? Look at the picture and read the note carefully. At first, it looks like the little girl is saying she wants to grow up to be an exotic dancer… but that’s not what’s happening! 😅 The joke is based on a misunderstanding. The mom actually works at Home Depot, a huge American home improvement store where people buy tools, paint, lumber, appliances, gardening supplies, and construction materials. Before a blizzard (nevasca), everyone rushed to buy snow shovels. The mom was simply selling the last shovel (pá para neve) in the store. Because of the way the child drew the picture, it accidentally looks like she’s dancing around a pole with people throwing money at her. 🤣 Vocabulary Focus Hectic = muito corrido; caótico; agitado Blizzard = nevasca Depict(ed) = retratar; representar Shovel = pá (neste contexto, pá para neve) 🎙️ Your Challenge Read the entire note. Listen to my audio and pay close attention to my pronunciation. Record yourself reading the note out loud. Don’t worry about sounding perfect; your goal is simply to improve your pronunciation a little every time.

Week 5 English Challenge
💬 As 3 Expressões do Vídeo I'm game → "Tô dentro!" / "Topo!" Usado para aceitar um convite de forma bem informal e animada. To feel like shit → "Se sentir péssimo / um lixo" Expressão informal para dizer que está se sentindo muito mal fisicamente (como de ressaca) ou emocionalmente I'm there → "Com certeza!" / "Pode contar comigo!" Usado para confirmar presença de imediato em algum plano. 🗣️ Dica de Shadowing Vídeos como esse são perfeitos para praticar Shadowing! A técnica é simples: 1. Ouça uma frase do vídeo. 2. Pause e repita em voz alta. 3. Faça isso até conseguir falar a frase com o mesmo ritmo e entonação do vídeo, quase como se estivesse falando por cima da voz dele! 🎯 Desafio da Semana O seu desafio é criar três cenários ou situações curtas da sua vida real em que você usaria cada uma das três expressões: 1. Uma situação para usar I'm game. 2. Uma situação para usar To feel like shit. 3. Uma situação para usar I'm there. Escreva a frase de cada situação em inglês e mande aqui!
