😂 Can You Explain the Joke?
Look at the picture and read the note carefully. At first, it looks like the little girl is saying she wants to grow up to be an exotic dancer… but that’s not what’s happening! 😅
The joke is based on a misunderstanding.
The mom actually works at Home Depot, a huge American home improvement store where people buy tools, paint, lumber, appliances, gardening supplies, and construction materials.
Before a blizzard (nevasca), everyone rushed to buy snow shovels. The mom was simply selling the last shovel (pá para neve) in the store. Because of the way the child drew the picture, it accidentally looks like she’s dancing around a pole with people throwing money at her. 🤣
Vocabulary Focus
Hectic = muito corrido; caótico; agitado
Blizzard = nevasca
Depict(ed) = retratar; representar
Shovel = pá (neste contexto, pá para neve)
