Day 2/56 - Your First 56 Day Challenge
Day 2 is here! Today’s mission: Talk About Your Daily Routine Você pode falar sobre: ☀️ What time you wake up ☕ What you do in the morning 💼 Work or school 🍽️ What you do in the afternoon 🌙 Your evening routine 😴 What you do before going to bed 📅 What you usually do on weekends IMPORTANT: don’t forget to start your video like this 👇🏻 “Hi, I’m [your name]. And I’m giving myself 56 days to speak English more confidently. Today is Day Two, and my challenge is to talk about my daily routine.” Let’s keep going! Day 2/56 — one more day of speaking English. 🇺🇸 I’m so proud of you! Mackenzie

Welcome to your first Fluent and Free challenge! A resposta é: sim. Trust the process. 🎥 Day 1/56: Introduce Yourself I am looking forward to getting to know you! Mackenzie

@Everson Araujo I’m so excited to have you join us on this challenge, Everson! Your English is really good and it’s only gonna get better as you use it more frequently and start creating more awareness. Shadowing would be an amazing tool for you as well, and the shadowing module is pretty much ready here in the classroom tab. Make sure you benefit from that as well and I’m looking forward to hearing more about you tomorrow!

Week 4 Challenge
I know I’m a little late, but last Sunday was the World Cup Final! ⚽🏆 One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of people know the teams, but they don’t always know how to say the countries’ names in both Portuguese and English. So I put together this image for you! It has all the flags, the country names in Portuguese, the names in English, and the pronunciation for both languages. I also created a simple speaking template so you can practice talking about the games. 🎧 Make sure you listen to the audio I’m posting too! In it, I’ll go over the pronunciation of every country in both languages 🇺🇸🇧🇷 This week’s challenge: Record yourself saying the names of all these countries (in the language you’re learning) using the template! Also tell us which game you watched, which team you were cheering for and who won!

@Paula Coutinho awesome!! Just for Spain, make sure you actually sound the I in it. Sounds almost like “ispein”. Great job for putting in the work, Paula!!
Week 6 Challenge 🔥🎯
Hello everyone! This video is part of the Fluent and Free program, where we work extensively with the concept of before and after so you can clearly see your progress over time. For today’s activity, our main focus will be practicing intonation and rhyme. How it works: 1. Watch the video as many times as you need, focusing on the tone, rhythm, and meaning of the poem. Pay attention to how the rhymes are read and how intonation play a big role in how you understand the poem. 2. Practice reading it out loud. 3. When you feel ready, record yourself reading the poem. If you would like more guided practice, live conversation classes, live sessions with me and a variety of different video classes and challenges, the Fluent and Free program is perfect for you. We will be launching it in the next couple of weeks; if you want more information, please enter the waitlist here: https://tally.so/r/KYG78A

@Everson Araujo Everson, you did so good! I love how perfect your intonation was. You got the rhyming pitch correctly, which can be hard if you're not used to reading poetry. The only word I noticed a little pronunciation mistake is the word "walking". I could almost hear you pronouncing the L in it, and when we say this word in English is sounds like "uóquin". Check that and let me know if you can tell the difference. Once again, you did amazing! Keep it up!

@Paula Coutinho Hey Paula! You did a great job! 💛 I noticed a few things you can work on: KEEP ON = Try not to separate these words too much. In natural speech, they almost become one sound: keep on walking → “ki-pôn-uóking” keep on dreaming → “ki-pôn-dríming” The goal is to make it flow naturally, instead of saying each word separately. KEPT ON: You also struggled a little with the past form. Remember that kept on is pronounced more like “kept-ôn,” with that clear T at the end of kept. kept on walking → “képtôn uóking” VERSION= Pay attention to the middle sound! The -sion sounds like /ʒ/, similar to the “j” sound in Portuguese. So version sounds like “vêr-jən”, not “vêr-sion.” These are small pronunciation details, but working on them will make your English sound much more natural. 💛 Good job on completing this challenge and keep up the great work!
