Email is still doing most of the work for me.
After the Etsy ban, all I had left was around 300 emails from past buyers. Over the past year I grew it to ~800. Not all of them bought again, but still, around 2/3 of my sales come from email.
Up until now, I was doing what most people do. One or two emails a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays, same message for everyone. Open rates around 40–45%, clicks 1.5–2%. It turns out to be quite good for my niche - womenswear- but still I’d love to get more sales from my subscribers.
Yesterday I finally changed that.
With the help of ChatGPT 5.5, I split my list into 4 segments and built a separate email sequence for each one. Different angle, different message, same products, but tailored to how that specific group actually thinks and buys.
Copies were done with AI as well, based on my client profile (women 45–60 in US & EU), then adjusted to match my tone.
Let’s see where this takes it. I’ll share results once I have enough data.
Also, if you’re not actively growing your list, you’re missing a big piece. I use OptiMonk on Shopify, free version is more than enough to start.
Curious — are you using email at all, or mostly relying on ads right now?
