What's the strangest fact you've learned from a book or documentary? When I was a child, I used to think that the eight planets simply orbited the Sun on the same plane. Back then, I didn't have access to BBC documentaries about the universe, so I knew very little about our solar system. Years later, I finally got the chance to watch some of them, and I learned that because the Sun is constantly moving through the galaxy, the planets actually follow spiral-like paths through space. In other words, the sky we see today isn't exactly the same as the one the First Emperor of Qin saw over two thousand years ago. I found that idea both strange and fascinating.
