Have you ever done a favor for someone and then regretted it? Yes, I have, and it's still a very unpleasant memory. About six years ago, I lent ten thousand yuan to a twenty-one-year-old man. He promised to pay me back a year later, but he never kept his promise. Every time I asked him when he could pay me back, he'd say, "I'm sorry. I still don't have a job with a stable salary. Could you wait a few more months?" It wasn't until two years ago that he finally paid me back. Ever since then, I've become much more cautious about lending people money. Nowadays, if someone asked me to lend them money, even just one hundred yuan, I'd probably say no.
