An unrecognized sound in some words
I know @Shane Peterson teaches American sounds the way the kids study them in American schools. And, for example, I encountered today the word "barrage" and the first vowel is apparently SHORT A, but what's with the second? The dictionaries show it as another sound, but which is it? Or American kids don't study this difference?
