3.What’s the best food you’ve ever had at a party or celebration?
The best food I’ve ever had at a celebration was probably a white-cut chicken thigh at my friend’s wedding.
Traditional Chinese weddings usually feature a huge banquet, and in my hometown, it’s often held in the family’s ancestral hall. There was a large temporary kitchen outside, and all the chefs were busy preparing dishes there.
My friend and I were curious, so we went in to watch them cook. One of the chefs noticed us and suddenly said, “Oh! You’re friends of the bride!” Then he immediately cut me a whole white-cut chicken thigh straight from a freshly cooked chicken.
Honestly, it was the most delicious chicken I’d ever had in my life. It was incredibly juicy and tender, I still remember it very clearly.
