The Mental Wall and How to Break Through
Do you ever feel overwhelmed and tempted to quit? I know I have. When I first started my business, I used to think mental toughness was something only Navy SEALs and marathon runners needed. What did I need it for? I’m just an online marketer, right? Wrong. I learned quickly that business will test your mental limits in ways you never imagined. It’s like playing chess against an opponent that never gets tired, never takes a break, and constantly throws obstacles your way. Miss a move, and you can find yourself questioning everything—your decisions, your abilities, and even your goals. But here’s what I realized: Success in business is less about skill and more about resilience. It’s All About Pushing Through When You Want to Give Up One of my toughest moments happened early in my journey. I’d invested a ton of money and effort into a project that completely flopped. Clients weren’t happy, refunds were pouring in, and I felt like throwing in the towel. It’s easy to keep pushing when everything’s going right. But true mental toughness shows up when everything’s falling apart. It’s in those moments where you feel completely defeated but still manage to say, “One more try.” What kept me going? I created a simple mindset rule for myself: Quitting is not an option. How to Build Mental Toughness—3 Strategies - Create Non-Negotiable Rules for Yourself My rule was simple: “I won’t quit today.” It sounds basic, but this rule got me through the worst of times. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, I told myself, “I can feel this way tomorrow if I have to, but not today.” Then I pushed on. Just that small mental shift stopped me from making rash decisions and quitting impulsively. - Have a “Reset” Routine Whenever I hit a mental wall, I noticed one thing: my mind would go into a downward spiral. One bad thought would lead to another until I felt like I was trapped in a maze of negativity. So, I created a “reset” routine. For me, it was a quick workout or a short walk outside to clear my head. This small action pattern-interrupted my negative thoughts and gave me a fresh perspective.
The Excuse That Keeps You Stuck
Here’s something I see all the time: People reach out asking for free coaching, promising to pay me back once they start making money. They say they’re broke, that they can’t afford even a $47 investment. But let me tell you something—the moment someone says they can’t put down a little cash on their own growth, it’s never about the money. It’s about their commitment. I’ve been there, too. When I was dead broke and juggling two jobs, I didn’t buy courses or invest in my future. Instead, I blew money on useless stuff like Zippo lighters. I bought one with an AC/DC logo, another with a skull design… completely pointless buys. It wasn’t that I didn’t have the money. My priorities were just all wrong. This is what’s happening when people claim they’re too broke to buy a book, a course, or invest in a mentor. They’re choosing to spend their cash elsewhere. They have an Emotional Budget that they allocate to whatever they find important at the time. Think about it: How many people do you know who are “broke” but still manage to buy the latest gadgets, go on vacations, or even just have a six-pack of their favorite beer on hand every weekend? They always find the funds for stuff that matters to them. But when it comes to investing in their future, suddenly, the bank’s dry. Money isn’t the real problem—it’s commitment. If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find the money. You’ll sell something, skip eating out, or pick up a side hustle. Why? Because you know that the return on investment is worth it. It’s not about what’s in your wallet today—it’s about what you’re willing to sacrifice to get where you want to be. So, the next time someone claims they’re too broke to afford coaching, don’t buy into the story. They just don’t want it bad enough. And if that’s you—if you’ve been holding back because of “money”—ask yourself: Is it really about cash, or are you just afraid of committing? Because if you’re not willing to put skin in the game, don’t expect to win.

I Made $20,000 While Playing Call of Duty
Let me take you back to New Year’s Eve 2022. No, I wasn’t at some glitzy party. No champagne. No fancy suits. Instead, I was right where I wanted to be—at home, in my cozy little bubble. We had a low-key night watching Home Alone with the kids. After that, it was family time, opening presents, and just soaking up the moment. Sounds like a typical family evening, right? Except… there’s one small twist. While I was there, hanging out with my kids and playing Call of Duty on my gaming rig for a good five hours, my business quietly raked in $20,000 in revenue. Twenty grand! And I didn’t lift a finger for it. That’s when it hit me: I was finally experiencing the true definition of passive income. For the longest time, I’d talk about passive income, but if I’m honest, I didn’t fully believe it myself. I was preaching it, teaching it—but deep down, I was still caught in that old-school hustle mindset, thinking I had to be working non-stop to keep the wheels turning. But that night, it all came together. I realized that the more leverage I build into my business, the less I actually need to do. And it’s a strange feeling—because, for years, I was the guy pushing hard, grinding at every corner, believing that time spent working was the only real way to create value. But here’s where the story gets even better. With all that newfound mental bandwidth and extra time, I decided to do something different. I channeled my creativity into a passion project—making a comic book series for my daughter. The first story had her saving all the town’s birds from a gang of evil villains. Then there was another where she took down a zombie-fueled Oreo cookie monster (long story short, Oreos are evil because of all the sugar—just ask my daughter). And when I saw her reaction? When I saw how much joy it brought her? That was the real reward. I even ended up making a few more of these comics. One where she and her little brother are in a full-on sibling battle over the iPad, and things escalate until the family has to come together and make peace.

Are You Missing This Key Element That Makes You Instantly Magnetic?
People often think that being magnetic means being the loudest person in the room, the one who always has the spotlight or knows how to charm others instantly. But that’s a shallow understanding of what truly makes a personality magnetic. Real magnetism doesn’t come from being over-the-top or putting on a show. It comes from being real and comfortable in your own skin. When you’re genuine, when you show up as you, something powerful happens—people notice. They lean in. They want to know more. They’re drawn to you almost instinctively. But here’s the thing: most people struggle with this because they think they have to act like someone they’re not to be successful. They’re stuck in the “fake it till you make it” mindset. They think they need to put on a mask, say all the right things, and come across as some polished, perfect version of themselves. And that’s where they go wrong. When you try to be someone else, you’re not creating a magnetic personality. You’re just putting up a facade, and it’s exhausting. I remember when I first got into the online business world, I thought I had to copy what all the big names were doing. I would mimic their style, their words, even their mannerisms, thinking that if I could just be like them, I’d achieve their level of success. But it didn’t work. I felt out of place, awkward, and it showed. People sensed it. And instead of being drawn to me, they were put off. That’s when I realized I had to drop the act and just be myself. What I found was that the real power lies in owning who you are—flaws and all. You see, people don’t connect with perfection. They connect with authenticity. They’re looking for someone who’s real, someone who’s gone through struggles and isn’t afraid to show it. When you show up genuinely, when you talk openly about your journey, your failures, and your little victories, it resonates. People see a reflection of their own story in yours, and that’s when the magic happens. The other piece to this is confidence.
If You Fake It, You Won’t Make It
We’ve all heard the saying: “Fake it till you make it.” It’s one of those phrases that sounds catchy but falls apart in the real world. Because when you fake it, you’re not building a business—you’re building a house of cards. Why ‘Faking It’ Kills Your Credibility Imagine being a brand-new marketer. You’re still learning, you haven’t made a single sale, and a prospect asks, “How much have you made so far?” You get nervous, your palms sweat, and you throw out a number that’s nowhere near the truth. What happens next? You’ve just created the perfect recipe for self-sabotage. Because deep down, you know you’re not telling the truth, and every word after that feels like quicksand, pulling you deeper and deeper. You’re trying to impress, but all you’re really doing is chipping away at your own confidence. And when you’re not confident, people sense it. The Power of Being Real Instead of pretending to be someone you’re not, own where you are right now. Be honest about your journey. Here’s what I mean: When I first started out, I didn’t have fancy cars, flashy watches, or seven-figure income reports to show off. What I had was my relentless drive to succeed. I’d say something like: “I’m new to this, but I’m working my butt off every day to master it. I’m committed to learning everything I can, and I’m looking for others who want to grow with me.” See the difference? It’s not about pretending. It’s about being real, relatable, and showing people that you’re someone who’s willing to put in the work. The Truth Cuts Through the Noise The fact is, people are bombarded with so much hype and BS these days that they expect you to be fake. But when you show up as yourself—no filters, no pretending—you immediately stand out. Prospects can’t help but think, “Wow, this person is actually genuine.” And that is what attracts them. It’s what turns a skeptical lead into a loyal customer. Authenticity Sells Better Than Any Pitch If you’re just starting out, you don’t need to fabricate success. Share your real story instead. Tell people about your learning process, the struggles you’re facing, and the lessons you’re picking up along the way.
