A slow life, one day at a time
I didn’t plan this life. A few years ago, everything changed, and I found myself starting again — on my own, with no clear plan. I had this small piece of land, and not much else. So I began quietly. I started creating with my hands again — making things from nature, teaching chocolate in a slower way, cooking over coals, and slowly working toward the little cottage I’m meant to have, while living simply in the tiny cottage I built. Some days feel peaceful. Some feel heavy. But all of it is real. This space is where I’m sharing that life as I rebuild it — one day at a time. If you’re craving something slower, simpler, and more grounded… you’re welcome here. 🤍

Tomato and basil heaven
Every spring I plant my tomatoes and basil from seed and they fill my greenhouse (which is also my rustic summer bathhouse) …to bursting. Then for the next 4 months I rejoice in green and red and make my breakfasts a celebration. It started as a little thing but it’s become a huge happy start to my day everyday🍅 FUN FACT: Basil contains compounds which have sedative, calming, and neuroprotective properties. It may act as a serotoninergic antidepressant. I can vouch for how happy handfuls of basil can make you every day and if you haven’t tried it? Give it a go. $4 of seeds for 4 months of delicious Joy😁🥰

A simple feast from the sea
Sunrise, low tide, and a day spent in nature. Gathering clams from pristine clear NZ water on an empty beach then home to my cottage to make a delicious little feast on fire … and appreciating how good the simple things can be 🤍
