So I found out yesterday that in the state of Missouri, you need a USDA approved produce scale to package microgreens on premises, or else they have to be prepackaged.

How’s it looking so far? I heard a rumor to spritz/mist the sunflowers a bit and brush off the hulls, should I do that? I was a bit skeptical because the last thing I want is gnats or some mold, but I do have 1-2 fans circulating air constantly. Anyways, I planted all 6 of these trays June 11th, so they’ve all been going for ~5 days. Radish/Peas first that might be ready to harvest as early as 9:00am tomorrow 😊 Here’s a little snippet I the timelines I pulled from my journal: | Variety | Harvest | Days left |---————---|----------———---|--------------------------| |Radish | Jun 17–20 |~1 to 3–4 days | |Sweet Pea | Jun 17–20 |~1 to 3–4 days | |Sunflower |Jun 18–21 |~2 to 4–5 days | |Arugula |Jun 18–21 |~2 to 4–5 days | |Broccoli |Jun 18–22 |~2 to 5–6 days | | Kale |Jun 19–22 |~3 to 5–6 days |

😥
Just pulled trays out of germination to put into blackout, and I had seed and soil transfer from my bottom trays to the bottom of the tray sitting on top of it. Is there any way to avoid this? Or am I just using crappy trays? And I need to update which I think is the issue. I'm not using the trays you sell. I'm using cheap Amazon trays
Putting my first trays under lights for the first time!!!!
Bro, I was NOT expecting this to be so sweet 😛 🫛 3 of 6 trays I planted on the same day came out very evenly germinated. The best ones are peas, sunflower and arugula, my broccoli was patchy, my kale is half up half down, and my radishes were interesting because the perimeter is growing awesome but the interior field is still pale and matted. I bottom watered the 4 brassicas but the peas and sunflower soil looks good and moisturized so I left em alone. This will be fun learning the correct time to harvest each variety, I’m more than stoked!

The first 4 pics are what my results were after 7 days...Some parts of my soil were super dry and other parts seemed very wet and I have gnats galore, so I ended up harvesting my 2 raddish trays and I'm going to try again. The glass jar is what I got from my 2 trays of raddish- kombucha bottle next to it for size reference. I'm donating the scraggly broccoli tray to my family's chickens & I'll give the sunflowers a few more days because they look like they're giving it their best shot to thrive. I'm not sure if it's just a watering issue, or an air flow issue, or if it's just the amount of seeds used; but in the pic of one of my green trays I circled my problem areas, the seeds aren't doing much of anything. The top left is obviously a dry corner but the other bald patches are about the same soil moisture level as areas that did sprout. Some look like they've started to sprout but they're all happening at very different times and I hate to waste the seeds 😩 I guess my question is, how much water (I use distilled) is enough but not too much to fill the bottom trays? & how do you know if you need to set up a fan? (My house is around 70° at night and gets up to 76° during the day)
