Journal Prompts Post ‘The Space Between’ Breathwork Session
Thanks for breathing with me last night, it was an absolute pleasure to hold the space for you all. Some of you having ‘breathed’ before and for others a totally new experience and may have opened your eyes to a whole new world and the impact that your breath can have on your physiology and your psychology. It is my belief that the breath always gives us what we need in that moment and in the 2-3 days following the session there is time for integration of the experience for things to still bubble to the surface. Be sure to carve out some time for yourself to reflect on the experience and maybe even revisit some of the more calming breathing techniques we did together at the start of the session. Here are some journal prompts which Weil help you reflect on the session. Journal prompts Immediate Integration (same day / next morning) - What did I notice in the pause between breaths during the session? - Where in my body did I feel space open up, even briefly? - What shifted when I stopped trying to control the breath? The Space Between Sensations - Which sensations arose in the spaces of stillness rather than in the intensity? - Where did I feel resistance to slowing down or doing less? - How did my body respond to the breathwork session? Emotional & Mental Integration - What emotions surfaced between waves of sensation or breath? - What thoughts softened or lost their charge in the quieter moments? - What felt clearer after the session? Nervous System Reflection - How did my nervous system move between activation and rest during the session? - What helped me stay present in the in-between moments? - What does safety feel like in my body when there is nothing to fix? Meaning & Insight - What does “the space between” represent in my life right now? - Where am I being invited to pause rather than push? - What emerged when I allowed uncertainty or emptiness? Bringing It Into Daily Life - Where today can I create space between stimulus and response? - How can I honour rest, pauses, or silence over the next few days? - What would it look like to breathe before reacting?
