The plan for this group, but open to change
I have been adding tips that I can think of today, so there is some content when coming into the group. I just want something of value so you can see what I am about. Where do I see this group going? Where ever the members take it honestly. My loose plan is having a community focused on helping each other along their health journey. I hesitated putting tips up today, but it felt good adding something to my new passion. In no way, am I trying to make this all about me, with me standing on a soapbox, and telling you you have to fo this, and follow these steps. I just wanted to provide some helpful tips that you could use, and adopt into your journey. As far as working out, cardio, or moving, we are all going to be on different levels. It is important to support all levels, and offer encouragement. At 390 pounds, a major win for me was walking into Target without taking a break. As far as eating, I am not concerned about a specific eating plan. I think portion control, different recipes, and doing better each day are what I’d important. If one person wants to do carnivore keto, but another wants to do grilled chicken and salads, I just want everyone to celebrate those daily victories for each other. One thing I did learn on my journey is setting small goals. This is a lifetime journey. Thinking about eating better and moving for the rest of your life can be overwhelming. Breaking that into smaller goals is so much more rewarding to me. I would like to do 4 challenges a year. By challenges, I don’t mean anything too over the top. I just like the group to have the same start date, and an end date, and all of us working, and supporting each other along the way to a better version of our self. The first week of January to the third week of March is challenge one. The first week of April through third week of June would be challenge 2. The first week of July though third week of September would be challenge 3. The first week of October through Christmas would be challenge 4.

Introducing me 😀
This is a Facebook post that I just posted on October 1st. When I created this Skool group today, I thought I would share so that you understand I do know where you are, and where you are coming from. 10.5 years ago, I was 390 pounds. Broken inside. So sad, but forcing a smile as I was the funny, fat guy. I didn’t have the looks, but I could make you laugh, or make your day better hopefully. The final straw was Christmas that year. I hadn’t realized just how much weight I had gained. I got on the plane, and the seatbelt didn’t fit. I panicked. I didn’t know they had seat belt extenders. I thought they would kick me off the plane. I tucked the 2 ends of the seatbelt under my stomach. I flew home looking out the window, crying the whole way, praying we didn’t hit turbulence. While I was home, I stopped breathing in my sleep twice. I thankfully figured out how to sleep partially propped up. I flew home with no seatbelt once again, and I knew changes had to be made. My life depended on it I got down to 250 slowly over the next 5 years. I hit 250 in June of 2020. I have fluctuated some, but held the weight off for 5 years now. I am watching lots of videos online lately. I watched one this week that hit home so much. It said that you must hit rock bottom before you can reach a better place. When you are rock bottom such as when you dive into a pool, you actually push off the bottom to reach the surface, or a better place. For those of you going through a hardship, or trying to lose weight, right now, you can do anything. Come up with a plan of small steps, and then slowly move forward. You can do it just like me. The world is better with you in it. There is someone who is thankful that you make their day a better day.
