One of the most concerning parts about raising children who don’t listen…
is not just what happens in our homes.
It’s what happens outside of them.
Because the truth is…
The world is not going to be as patient as we are.
A teacher is not going to repeat instructions five times.An employer is not going to tolerate constant attitude.Authority figures are not going to negotiate back and forth.
And in some situations…
Not listening the first time can have serious consequences.
That’s why obedience is not about control.
It’s about preparation.
We are not just teaching our children to listen to us…
We are teaching them how to function in a world that will not always slow down for them.
This doesn’t mean we parent in fear.
But it does mean we parent with awareness and responsibility.
Because one day…
We won’t be there to correct it.
So we have to teach it now.
Not out of fear…
But out of love.
