First post!

Hi everyone! I’m Darcey, or deeg53402 on WN (for now.)

I was struggling with inspiration for my next mosaic piece, so I started looking on Whatnot for inspiration through jewelry, glass, dishes, and other beautiful little treasures, and that ended up opening the door to a whole new interest in vintage and antique jewelry. The more I’ve explored, the more fascinated I’ve become with learning what to look for, what to buy, and what makes certain pieces special.

I started making mosaics after losing my mom in 2024, and creating became a way for me to process my grief and turn heartbreak into something beautiful. So when I discovered vintage micro mosaic jewelry, I was in love. I knew micro mosaics existed from people making them now, but I had no idea there were vintage versions, and now I’m completely in love with them and even interested in trying to make some of my own.

I have probably already smashed some pretty old dishes and ceramic or porcelain trinkets along the way too. Whenever I buy something and someone says, “That’s really pretty” or “That’s so nice,” I usually tell them it will probably be smashed to pieces soon 😂 That has actually led to a few opportunities to possibly sell my art in local shops, which has been really encouraging.

Right now I’m focused on learning, organizing all the things I already have, and figuring out what I may want to sell, from costume jewelry and some vintage pieces to thrifted finds, clothing, and other fun collectibles or all of the above, just not sure about WN being the right platform to sell my art.

I live near Eugene, Oregon with my husband and our two little old rescue dogs. I’ve worked a corporate job most of my life, but my dream is to eventually work for myself creating and selling beautiful things that bring people joy.

I’m also sharing two of my favorite pieces I’ve done so far. One still needs to be grouted though, because I hate grouting so much!
