Shipping station/supplies
I believe at one point someone noted a source for shipping boxes. Could we revisit that? I would also love to find sources for the little bubble wrap bags and padded envelopes in the 4 x 6 size etc... I used to use U line, but their shipping costs are astronomical, speedy but expensive. I also need someone to help me set up a shipping station and I do believe I'm on the brink of trying to hire an assistant for shipping but I work out of my home and am not sure I want someone coming in especially since I sell jewelry. Thoughts? Advice? Feedback?

Show notes
Sorry to be late to the party...I've missed the show notes for our Raid Train. I tried to screenshot from others but can't seem to make it work. Please send me the link or full page so I can post. Tysm!

Here you go!
Question/Discussion about reviews.
I pay a lot of attention to reviews when I make a purchase. That being said Im terrible about leaving them and would like to leave more notable ones, especially for newer sellers. I have noticed that most of the sellers I buy from have reviews from approx 10-20% of their items sold, so maybe Im not the only one that reads rather than write. My questions are โ€˜Do you check a sellers reviews before you purchase from them?โ€™ And if you do โ€˜Are there certain things you look for? Or do you just see if customers are satisfied in general?โ€™

@Allison Singleton thx! I havenโ€™t gotten any bad reviews. I was just wondering how much weight everyone puts in reviews
Buying lots from ebay
I took the risk on a lot I found on eBay. I wrote about it a couple of weeks ago. It met most of my criteria in buying, except one. Lots of pictures but no pics of the backs. It was a bad risk I made. There really wasnโ€™t anything to salvage. Main issue was the smell. It was dirty and dusty and attacked my asthma something fierce. I reached out to seller, in a very nice way and asked for a $12.00 refund (I paid $44). She wrote back apologizing profusely saying she buys tons of estates, hadnโ€™t gone through it except to take pictures. She refunded me $32.00. Even without her refund the whole event gave me an opportunity to flex my wings and just try. I see now what I should have done in selecting. Complete learning experience. Thanks Team Skool!!

It happens to us all sometimes, donโ€™t get discouraged ๐Ÿซค
Starting bids
I was recently asked by a newer seller about how they go about pricing items for their auction. My response was to let them know how I do it in terms of figuring out cost per item and going from there. 95% of my items are uniformly started at a lower bid amount while a few bangers go for higher. How do you all determine your starting bid amounts?

I have been preloading higher priced items in the BIN and for prebid. I then run all items in 8ish trays/flats for $4 starts, I always try to make sure I have some โ€˜bangersโ€™ in each of my trays along with 925 (even put a few small 14K items sometimes). I try to make sure I have an assortment of items and estimated finish price on each tray. I do sometimes take a โ€˜lossโ€™ on an individual item on my trays, but other items always make up for it. Ive been running 200-250 pieces each Friday night, and Im liking the results of my shows for the most part. Im fortunate in that I have several thousand pieces on hand that I have accumulated which I consider โ€˜paid forโ€™ based on other sales from those bulk lots, these items allow any โ€˜lossโ€™ to be negligent.
