Question/Discussion about reviews.
I pay a lot of attention to reviews when I make a purchase. That being said Im terrible about leaving them and would like to leave more notable ones, especially for newer sellers. I have noticed that most of the sellers I buy from have reviews from approx 10-20% of their items sold, so maybe Im not the only one that reads rather than write. My questions are ‘Do you check a sellers reviews before you purchase from them?’ And if you do ‘Are there certain things you look for? Or do you just see if customers are satisfied in general?’

I so rarely get a bad review, because I pay such close attention to my customer service, my packaging and my brand recognition. Everyone and I mean everyone will eventually get a bad review, accept it, learn from it and move on confident you had done your best and you cannot please everyone in this big world. One more suggestion unless it’s so far out there, I would say as little as possible, and move far away from the negativity as fast as possible.
Type of glass?
Hi friends! I know very little about this era and type of jewelry. What is this glass called? Thank you so much!

It’s a unique finish on that molded glass for sure, typically they look like leaves but this one is special and possibly rare Amber molded glass and rhinestone. Beautiful color as well! Lovely brooch❤️ possible Lisner I was helping someone else identify this is what I found check the pin stop and back. See that scratched appearance. I won’t say absolute but possibility. Have a wonderful day

@Jen Car well in this case you have prong set and glued in, I see some prongs there as well that need a bit of love bend them back carefully, depends on the piece. This is the front of that piece, glued and prongs sets.

I’m licking my wounds
.I’m licking my wounds from Saturday afternoon. I actually found a yard sale—something I haven’t done in 15 years. I had a hard time locating it until I asked a yard guy for directions. I got there, and the woman clearly sells jewelry regularly. Everything was priced at top dollar—nothing amazing, mostly knockoffs. Some pieces were marked as silver or vintage, and they weren’t. She told me she has a lot of Whatnot customers, had someone coming the next day to help her with an auction, and was planning to start doing her own. I tried Brad’s suggestion and asked if she had anything else she might want to sell. She brought out a tray, and there was a really nice signed Carol Lee necklace. I asked the price, she said $20, and I told her I’d take it. I kept looking for about an hour, thinking maybe I could find another good deal if the price made sense. I did pick out a few more things. When she totaled everything, it came to $190 at full price. I said no, I just wanted the necklace and a pair of earrings. Meanwhile, she had been giving other people deals but wanted to charge me full price. She told me I had said I was buying everything and then refused to sell me anything at all. She got upset, started raising her voice, and wouldn’t even sell me the necklace. But when one door closes another one opens

@Carla Kohler I source constantly, estate sales (look for local ones in your area) online auctions , whatnot ofc , garage sales, church bizarres, any vintage stores that sell jewelry, I prefer charity vintage you get - better deal and you are helping the charities, also a write off by the way!

@Carla Kohler so tricks with estates sales, get there early, they frequently will give you a number in priority to tour, think about what you want to pay don’t go over or leave it, if it’s over your budget, never good to chase their pricing, make a lower offer always, they want to sell everything, so you are in charge, bundle if they will allow for a lower price point per piece. Always bring your loop, hand black light so you can test and cash. Know the feel of silver, gold and plat. Good luck😊 If you buy online auctions, again stick to budget, take pics ahead of auctions, check comps, and check weight and details, damage, about the pieces. Sometimes, you can get great deals on special jewelry. Good luck to you hope this helps!
