How To Establish A Habit That Lasts
Quick update, for the next few days I am away on holiday so I won't be posting a live guided sessions until I return.
I thought I would use this brief interruption to highlight an important feature of habit building - the need to be flexible and adaptable to life circumstances.
It is okay to miss a day.
It is okay to make changes.
Habits stick when you are consistent, but if they are not aligned with a higher value or 'why' they will fall off when life happens. Instead, if you focus on the overall goal, you will be able to adapt when necessary and ultimately be successful.
Meditation is one of the core pillars of mental health, so although I won't be posting my sessions for the next few days, I will still be sitting and practicing. This is the core of my practice (not the recording and sharing) so I will adapt, persist, and when back return.
I encourage you to approach your own habit building in a similar way, be it for meditation, exercise or otherwise.
