Happy Birthday @Benjamin Wood . On this day 43 years ago, our very own - Ben Jammin' was birthed into this world. He was always meant for more, and delivers on his every word. He's a great pal, great instructor and better yet... He's a good person. Ben is dedicated to helping others on the guitar and always gives 110% to the things he gets involved with. He's sacrificed many of his "nights out" - many of his "lazy days" - he's given so much to his craft and it really shines in his playing. It really shines in his teaching and his understanding. From guitar to real world drama, Ben has always proven to be a loyal, trustworthy and dedicated individual. So please join me in wishing Ben a sincere happy birthday and great new year by posting a video of you shredding, playing happy birthday or doing a "one note" solo. Whatever it is... whatever it looks like - thanks for being here and we look forward to sharing more over the coming years. For memories' sake, here are a few bad pictures of Ben and a few from gigs we've played together over the years... Oh man there are so many more. Until next year... love ya Ben. Toodles 👋

Chord Progression of The Week (With Loop Pedal)
I'm bringing you along for my loop pedal experience. It's probably the most "simple" and yet complex way to create an immersive musical experience all on your own... I'm not doing a deep dive on the pedal itself in this one (though if you want, we could absolutely get into the loop pedal realm another time). Right now I'm focused on using the chord progression of the week to challenge my fingers, not just my strumming rhythm. I truly believe that - If I keep picking up my guitar, if I keep playing a couple of hours a day, if I treat it as important enough to give it real space and time... I'm going to become a better player. I'll start to recognize the musical opportunities that show up when I listen to the conversation between the melodies and my own note choices. What do you think about this? Soon enough I'll have "more to say" when it comes to what to play, and more opportunities because of it. Anyways... enough about me. What about you? Thanks for checking this one out. Remember to try one for yourself, record it, and we'll see you in the comments!

Sunday Funday Posts are "Share Day"
On Sundays, and just for fun periodically, we'll invite you to share your own music. I'm jamming to one of our "free backing tracks" from our Classroom section 🔝 at the top of our page here. This is not the time to share a sample from your Spotify... Not the time to share a youtube video you did X years ago... When we ask you to share your Funday post, we're asking you to share a recording you make today or throughout this week. Feel free to browse what others are doing and ask questions. This is where guitarist get to see other guitarists working through their own pieces or songs. Where we're at on our journey - there are many others. When we come together to help each other grow, we all benefit. Thanks for sharing. Let's make Sundays the top posted day on the Skool platform lol! That's my goal anyways... So let's hear it! Post your recording down below ⬇️ p.s. Here's the link to the free backing track I'm jamming to in the video: https://www.skool.com/intermediate-guitar/classroom/acd5dbdf?md=bff682a76d6b4d6fa2bd62dfe4c6df82
