Happy Birthday @Benjamin Wood . On this day 43 years ago, our very own - Ben Jammin' was birthed into this world. He was always meant for more, and delivers on his every word. He's a great pal, great instructor and better yet... He's a good person. Ben is dedicated to helping others on the guitar and always gives 110% to the things he gets involved with. He's sacrificed many of his "nights out" - many of his "lazy days" - he's given so much to his craft and it really shines in his playing. It really shines in his teaching and his understanding. From guitar to real world drama, Ben has always proven to be a loyal, trustworthy and dedicated individual. So please join me in wishing Ben a sincere happy birthday and great new year by posting a video of you shredding, playing happy birthday or doing a "one note" solo. Whatever it is... whatever it looks like - thanks for being here and we look forward to sharing more over the coming years. For memories' sake, here are a few bad pictures of Ben and a few from gigs we've played together over the years... Oh man there are so many more. Until next year... love ya Ben. Toodles 👋

Here is your first official challenge! Go ahead and find your favorite chord progression from the tabs section above, hit record, and give it an attempt. Don't worry about making mistakes... just watch the others who have stepped up before you, dig into whatever you’re playing, and post it. But for now just a pic of your guitar and a simple hello would do so we can get to know the player 😃 While we are busy behind the scenes building out the vault and creating a definitive space for this community, we are also seriously committed to showing up in the ways that actually count. And that starts right here. When it comes to the "conversational" side of playing guitar, there is never enough action. We want to change that. So, let’s open up the floor by sharing what we're playing on. Let's see your guitars! Look, sometimes you just don’t want to scroll through pictures of people's family vacations, and you’d rather browse through beautiful guitar pics for an hour instead. Am I right or am I right? Who's to say? Whatever you're playing on, we are absolutely here for it. Drop a photo of your guitar in the comments. Intermediate guitar players are, by far, one of the largest and loudest groups in the musical world... and honestly, we’re sharper than most. While everyone else out there is just "doing stuff," we are actively learning new skills and sharpening the ones we already have. We deserve a dedicated space for these exact conversations. We deserve practical, no-BS information we can actually trust, coming from people we actually like to see. Most of our players here have been adapting to the elements and playing for years. We are a proud group, and we absolutely should be. Check out the "Classroom" Section. Check out the practices with helpful tabs, drop your video or gear pics below, and let’s get this community talking about where pics actually go when they fall down and are never seen again... Catch you in the chat! (The image: My daughter trying to play "Uncle "@Benjamin Wood Jumbo body Epiphone)

@John Rasco John that's glorious! Thanks for sharing. Is that your one and only guitar or are there others!?

@Daz S tabs for each chord progression video will be put with the corresponding video. So, chord progression tabs should be with each chord progression they belong to. If it is one of mine, I'll make sure those are up here tonight🙏🏽 @Benjamin Wood usually makes sure his have them 🤝. What else can we do for ya Daz?
New to group.
I played guitar for several years when I was younger, then quit for forty years, now re-learning, currently can play rhythm guitar to most songs, now slowly learning notes and special chords required by some songs. Look forward to gathering some good information that may improve my skills with this group.

Pushing your limits is a good place to start. Stepping out here to say and do something is strong work my friend. Stick around, we'll help keep your fingers busy! I see your profile picture is filled with the electric guitar, is that what you dig in with these days?
**UPDATE** For All
Hey everyone, Mike here. Popping in real quick because this week you're going to notice a bit of a rhythmic shift in the way we post, and I want you to know exactly what we're doing and why. So check out the short video below - or - continue reading... Both provide clarification and are easy to understand. Here's the short version: We're supercharging our systems (So-to-speak). Starting next week, you'll see a lot more tablature on screen so you can actually see what's happening and play right along, more quick lessons you can knock out fast, and we're also extending the bigger library we've already built out for our paid tiers. The real goal is a value upgrade for everyone in here. The old weekly rhythm (Riff of the Week, Tip Top Tuesday, and the rest) was great to test out, but doesn't provide enough breathing room for the information output we'll be working through. So think more "good stuff showing up throughout the week." *Kinda feel... Pop back to our Skool in a day or two days and update our conversations about a certain exercise. And it's not just more videos... We're building a chord finder currently that will be a multi tool for its users. In these new videos we're going deeper into the things that actually matter for your playing. Chord construction, deeper dives into how it all fits together, the stuff that lets you play your-own-music in your-own-style and truly start improvising. (That's what I'm here for!) We're just changing the format to something we think will serve this space for the better. This week is kind of the bridge. We've still got a couple classroom videos dropping (a music theory piece and a practice exercise from Ben), plus a chord progression video landing Friday. Next week, the new format goes live and the fresh stuff, hot off the press, starts rolling out. So bear with us while we get our feet under us and... get ready, because there's a lot of fun involvement opportunities coming. We're in here every day, so say hello, drop your questions, and tell us what you want to learn next.

@Larry Cannon yeah, this is a good shift for obvious reasons. It'll be fun. You like the single note work don't ya? Has it always been that way? Do you ever sing and play?

@Larry Cannon I didn't even know there was a posture for what we're doing lol. I know you don't want to "slouch" but the straight wrist and stuff really gets me!
