How to Get the Most Out of "Dopamine Detox"
Hi—welcome to Dopamine Detox! This group is for young, ambitious men who want to end their dopamine addiction so they can start crushing their goals and building the life they dream of. If you're here, something is ruining your life (or at least making it worse). It can be video games, social media, porn, junk food—you name it. You know it's bad for you. You know it's harming your life. But, you feel like you can't stop. The good news is: you can overcome this. It takes two things: • Identify what behaviors or substances are causing you problems, • Abstain from those behaviors or substances for at least 30 days. We'll help you do that. To start, introduce yourself in New Here?. Let us know who you are, and what substances or behaviors you're struggling with. Then, you can start your dopamine detox and post daily updates in the Accountability channel—sharing wins, challenges, and lessons with each other. Let's go! 💪 *NOTE: The group is NOT for someone struggling with alcohol or drug addiction. If that's you, please reach out to a medical professional.

Hello everyone!
Hi guys, I'm Jackson—the founder of the group. I started this group to scratch my own itch. I've struggled with moderate addictions of all sorts—junk food, porn, social media, video games, I've done it all. Last year, my addictions were starting to ruin my life. Then, I read "Dopamine Nation" by Anna Lembke, and it changed my life. I started a dopamine detox, and—through a lot of trial and error—eventually completed a 30 day detox. I felt happy for the first time in months, and I finally started making progress on my other goals. But, I always felt that the communities around dopamine detoxing were lacking. So, I'm starting my own :) Here are some fun facts about me: • I'm 22 years old and work for a philosophy think-tank (probably not what you think lol), • I love all things personal development—health, fitness, productivity, entrepreneurship, philosophy (obviously 😉), neuroscience, writing, and so much more. If it relates to improving my life, then I'm probably gonna love it, • I've recently started traveling more. This September, I went to Guatemala for over a month to visit my long distance girlfriend ❤️ I'm gonna be going through another dopamine detox, as I've recently started falling back into old patterns. Specifically, I'll be abstaining for mindless social media scrolling and junk food. I can't wait to meet you all!
