When your Inner Artist is right
Too often as actors we simply do what we're told. We end up being pawns in someone else's game. Kevin Costner gives a brilliant example of how our Inner Artist deserves to be listened to and respected. If Kevin Costner hadn't had the courage to stand up for what he felt to be true, he wouldn't have made such a successful career for himself and he wouldn't have inspired an already great actor (Gene Hackman) Was there a time you were outspoken on behalf of your Inner Artist?

Willing to play the fool
Ethan Hawke is an amazing actor, writer and director. In this TED Talk, he eloquently points out the "necessity of art" and how any successful performer will have to eventually desire to be seen as a fool. Is it you, or your Inner Artist, that fears being viewed as a fool?

Reading Scripts through the eyes of your Inner Artist
To understand the character being portrayed, you must compare and contrast the role to your Inner Artist. We all experience a variety of emotions on any given day. By taking multiple attempts to understand the character, while in a different emotional state, Mathew McConaughey can see the role from more emotional angles. Unlike One-dimensional and two-dimensional characters who are all flat characters, a complex character needs to be understood and portrayed in a similar complex way. What are some the complexities of your Inner Artist?
