When your Inner Artist is right
Too often as actors we simply do what we're told. We end up being pawns in someone else's game. Kevin Costner gives a brilliant example of how our Inner Artist deserves to be listened to and respected. If Kevin Costner hadn't had the courage to stand up for what he felt to be true, he wouldn't have made such a successful career for himself and he wouldn't have inspired an already great actor (Gene Hackman) Was there a time you were outspoken on behalf of your Inner Artist?

Our Inner Artist's "Chatter"

Being aware of the mental chatter in your mind is this first step in shaping it to benefit your life as a performer. You are human for experiencing chatter, learn from it and, if necessary, reprogram this self talk promote your personal growth. What are some healthy forms of "chatter" your Inner Artist needs to hear?

Pretending is Acting
A simple and hilarious way to look at acting. Its funny because it's true. Sometimes we over think the process. It's important to remember we're just having fun. That's why it's called a "play" or "screen play". What does your Inner Artist like to do for fun?

Willing to play the fool
Ethan Hawke is an amazing actor, writer and director. In this TED Talk, he eloquently points out the "necessity of art" and how any successful performer will have to eventually desire to be seen as a fool. Is it you, or your Inner Artist, that fears being viewed as a fool?

The Radio, a transmitter for Music
The radio is a technology that uses radio waves to transmit sound and communication. It's a form of mass media that allows people to listen to news, music, and other programs. It was the desire for Music that helped promote this technology. The words written for a song, written 40 years ago, still holds true today... I'd sit alone and watch your light My only friend through teenage nights And everything I had to know I heard it on my radio You gave them all those old-time stars Through wars of worlds invaded by Mars You made 'em laugh, you made 'em cry You made us feel like we could fly Radio So, don't become some background noise A backdrop for the girls and boys Who just don't know or just don't care And just complain when you're not there You had your time, you had the power You've yet to have your finest hour Radio, radio All we hear is "Radio ga ga Radio goo goo Radio ga ga" All we hear is "Radio ga ga "Radio blah blah" Radio, what's new? Radio, someone still loves you We watch the shows, we watch the stars On videos for hours and hours We hardly need to use our ears How music changes through the years Let's hope you never leave, old friend Like all good things on you we depend So, stick around 'cause we might miss you When we grow tired of all this visual You had your time, you had the power You've yet to have your finest hour Radio, radio All we hear is "Radio ga ga Radio goo goo Radio ga ga" All we hear is "Radio ga ga Radio goo goo Radio ga ga" All we hear is "Radio ga ga Radio blah blah" Radio, what's new? Someone still loves you! How did listening to the Radio shape your Inner Artist?
