Listening is the most important skill in improvising.
"I deduced that listening is the most important skill in improvising. But it's not an easy thing to teach. You can't really. You can't listen for somebody. You just have to put them in a situation where they can practice listening."
That’s why I created these pillars of the Flutarians community:
🔊Improv Games - We play Live online games with other flutists that get us making decisions, solving tiny problems, playing through mistakes, and actively listening to others. These games demonstrate the fundamentals of improvisation in easily digestible “chunks” that can be skill-stacked for maximum expressiveness.
🔊Community Participation - Duet invitations, backing tracks, and a supportive community make it easy to post progress recordings. Remember to listen to your recordings and share what you liked & what you’d like to do differently!
