SpaceX & Anthropic: More Compute for Big Tech, More Dependency For Us.
Most people hear "Anthropic just got more compute" and think: great, better AI tools.
That's the easy version of the story.
The harder version is what we actually talked about in this week's video.
Big tech locking down infrastructure at this scale means smaller players can't compete at the frontier level anymore. The garage-startup era of AI is over. If you don't own the dirt the computer sits on, you don't own anything it produces.
And that's before you get to what data centers are doing to the communities they land in. Or what AI finishing your sentences is slowly doing to your ability to think without it.
We work in AI. We're not pretending any of this is simple.
