Stories that travel through food
Gwynne asked me to share this tiny piece of writing about my very disorderly kitchen. Since this morning I found a use for the lemons... 😁🍋🍋🍋🍋 If my kitchen could talk today, it would tell the story of meals hastily made, the pots and pans still stacked haphazardly on the drainer, potatoes rolling over the counter next to a half eaten packet of crisps, a bag of lentils and four desultory lemons which missed their chance to be used for something greater but will still be good for a sharp squeeze over fresh trout, if there is any to be had. But despite the chaos there is also a deep sense of calm on this quiet morning with the scent of coffee lingering in the air, of joy in throwing ingredients together, of evenings spent with loved ones in the abandoned corks, of once lazy afternoons of baking, frying and sizzling in the random jars of treacle and stem ginger in syrup and chilli oil with garlic and Mermaid Confetti for which there is no space in the cupboard.
WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A YEAR FROM NOW?
Imagine walking up to your mailbox next June, pulling out a heavy package, and slicing it open. Inside is a stack of pristine, beautifully bound books. You pick one up, run your hand across the cover, and see your name printed beneath the title. You open it, smell the fresh ink, and flip through pages filled with your stories and family legacies. A profound wave of pride washes over you. You didn't just dream it. You actually did it. That deep, soul-satisfying realization that your legacy is secure is your true destination. You can find a generic writing checklist anywhere on the internet. But the process isn't what changes your life — the identity shift is. When you step into this circle, you shed the title of "aspiring" writer and step into the reality of a published author. The next 12 months are going to pass anyway. Where do you want to be when they do? Cast your vote below! 👇 Tell us exactly where you want to land, because defining the destination is the first step to arriving there. 📊 POLL: One year from today, what does your breakthrough look like?

SUCH A POWERFUL MOTIVATOR! 🥂
I saw a comment inside our community about ‘The Cookbook You're Meant to Write’ this week that completely made my heart skip a beat: "I didn't think I had a cookbook in me - but now I think I might! Lots of strategies and ideas! It's a great module, happy to share the love!” - Ida Keogh That shift — dropping the doubt and owning your voice — is exactly why we are here. If you are still wondering if your stories are "enough," remember this: - The Blueprint 🗺️ – You don’t need a celebrity chef resume. You just need the right structure to turn your raw kitchen memories into professional pages. - The Hunger ❤️ – The world is starving for authentic connection and culinary heritage, not just sterile, clinical instruction manuals. - The Legacy 🪵 – Your unique perspective and the moments shared around your table belong to you alone. Nobody else can write your book. 🕒 Over to you! 👇 Let’s claim that space today. Don't overthink it, just drop it in the comments: If you did write your cookbook, what would the central theme or title be? 📖 (Ready to build the actual framework? Our The Cookbook You’re Meant to Write module is waiting for you in the Classroom. https://www.skool.com/how-to-write-about-food-8335/classroom/1c454485?md=df9a382fcc844f989570c0305d8f579e
