SEX SELLS!
I'm thinking of building a module on 'How to Write an Erotic Foodie Novel'.
The connection between food, eating, and erotica is largely rooted in the senses, the body, and pleasure.
Both food and erotic experience are deeply sensory. Taste, smell, texture, and touch all play a role, and both invite a heightened awareness of the body. The act of eating — slowing down, noticing flavour, anticipating the next bite — mirrors the rhythm of desire and satisfaction.
There’s also a shared language. Here are 10 words that can work in both food and sensual/erotic contexts — suggestive, but not explicit ✨👇
• Indulgent• Rich• Velvety• Decadent• Melt• Tender• Juicy• Creamy• Luscious• Satisfying
👉 These work well because they evoke texture, pleasure, and sensation — key to both food writing and sensual language 🍽️✍️
Culturally, food has long been associated with comfort, indulgence, and desire, making it a natural metaphor for emotional and physical connection.
In writing, this link will allow you to create depth — not by being explicit, but by using suggestion, atmosphere, and sensory detail.
Let me know what you think?
