Shutting down the group for now
Hi Everyone! I am spread way too thin and simply don't have enough time to devote to the group. I would love to keep in touch with all of you!! This group will go dark on February 21st... so if you want to stay in touch, DM me your phone number or your email and we can talk there. There are so many awesome groups in Skool for gardening, etc.... hope to see you there!
Free Book on Mushrooms
Hi Everyone! I don't know the author personally. She sent me an advance copy of her book and it is now on Amazon Kindle for FREE. Only the next day or so is it free, so jump on it now. Please read it and leave her a review for the courtesy of the free book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWMH5FV5
I was today years old when I discovered this resource>>>
Hi ya'll! I have been fighting local government with the help and support of so many of my neighbors in Washington County, IN. I think it's important to keep learning... and a neighbor shared that INFB - Indiana Farm Bureau (who is my car insurance provider!) will be offering a class on Agriculture, Zoning, etc.... hmmm....so I did a little digging and found this: https://www.infarmbureau.org/events/webinars-and-recorded-calls Perhaps your various locales have something similar. My membership with INFB is just $36/year...it's required when you get insurance through them. I had no idea the classes they are offering for free! Some of these recordings are going to be exactly what I'm looking for... and some may serve as a glimpse into what my enemies think and the initiatives to control our futures as homesteaders. Take a peek yourself... then please post any links you have to free education that has made or will make a difference on your homesteading journey.
Free wood chips for you
Hey y'all, I once got a load from chipdrop.com and it cost me about $40 to entice someone enough to drive out where I am. That was 3 years ago... and not another once since. Duke energy, my electric company, just left us a notice that they will be trimming trees in my area... the name of the company and a contact was on the door hanger. I called immediately, talked to a nice lady named Carol... she hadn't even left my driveway yet lol! I let her know that I would be delighted to get some wood chips on my property and she seemed thrilled that her guys would have a place to drop that is near the work being done. Now... I may regret this. I don't know. Maybe I'll get some undesireable types of wood. Maybe there will be poison ivy that was wrapped around some trees... I don't know. I'm hoping that doesn't happen since they are trimming branches. Comment below: have you tried calling local tree trimmers or your electric company to offer your property as a convenient way for them to drop some wood chips? Did I just unknowingly hurt myself? Inquiring minds want to know!
Free Permaculture Design Course
Hi Y'all, I just signed up for this myself.. so no warranties on how good it is... other than it's free. There are more courses offered for $$$... but I can't determine if they are worth it. I tend to be skeptical about big institutions offering classes... because I always wonder who sponsored the building and therefore controls the curriculum. So for me, I prefer to spend money with experts who live this every day. I doubt OSU is going to hire and promote Joel Salatin, haha! So instead, I'll buy his books, @David The Good 's books and keep money in our economy! Here's the link, hope it's good! https://workspace.oregonstate.edu/course/free-introduction-to-permaculture
