Hi everyone
My name is Rebecca and I have been in various aspects of Healthcare for 40 years. I am semi retired. I have 1 minor child still at home and my 93 year old mother I care for who lives with me. I am doing Digital Marketing now to help cover my bills and provide for us to buy a homestead with other family members in the near future. My son wants a horse boarding business and has horses, chickens and goats already. He has been learning to root potatoes and different vegies and sharing process with me. I am in the learning process so we are prepared to do this.

Hey homesteaders! 👋 I’m Mary-Heather, and I’m so excited to be part of this community! I’ve been on a journey of natural living, herbal remedies, and self-sufficiency, and I love learning from others who share a passion for homesteading, sustainability, and working with nature. I am in zone 7B! I focus on herbal wellness, foraging, and growing medicinal plants, and I love exploring ways to incorporate them into daily life. Whether it’s making herbal tinctures, crafting natural remedies, or finding ways to live more in sync with the seasons, I’m always eager to share and learn! I love growing my own food and mixing in so many herbs that keep the bugs at bay! Looking forward to connecting, exchanging knowledge, and growing together! 🌱 Drop a comment and let me know—what’s your favorite thing about homesteading? 🏡✨ I would love to know what people are doing for slugs, cabbage, moths and Japanese beetles...lol

Hi and thanks for adding me
I'm not an expert gardener or no expert in anything - I am just a person with ADHD and obsessive persistence who starts hundreds of projects and one happens to be a garden. I’ve been tending to my garden for the past 14 years on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I live in a rural area but in the development with a modest backyard and a clay soil which makes it a challenge! I’ve discovered that sometimes less is more when it comes to gardening, as my best crops seemed to thrive when I put in the least effort. Last year’s harvest reminded me of that - when practically nothing grew! Thankfully, my cucumbers and tomatoes—my absolute favorites—never let me down! :) Dreaming big, I envision someday living in a serene green meadow nestled in between hills and woods, surrounded by acres of land and blissful solitude. I garden for the practical reasons - to be able to sustain ourselves in case the worst happens and also because I grew up in Lithuania where gardening and homestead was a big part of everyone's life. I am hoping that one day I will return to Lithuania and live a quiet peaceful life on my homestead there. Nice to meet you! 🌱

Hello from Ohio!
Hi Im a backyard homesteader on 2 acres with a bunch of chickens and a garden. Chickens are going great but my gardening yield has always been lackluster. I have pretty clayish soil and Im trying to incorporate compost and layering to help create good topsoil. Any tips would be appreciated if anyone has successfully dealt with hard clay like soil before. My dream life is on 20+ acres with tons of pastureland for grass fed cattle, chickens, all manor or fruit trees and berry bushes, and anywhere but in Ohio. :)
