One of our favorite (and easiest!) fine motor activities at home is playing with play dough.
It may look like โjust play,โ but hereโs what it actually helps develop ๐
๐ฑ Hand strength
๐ฑ Finger control
๐ฑ Coordination
๐ฑ Pencil-holding readiness
๐ฑ Focus and patience
Simple ways to use play dough at home:
๐ Roll it into balls or snakes
๐ Pinch, squeeze, and flatten
๐ Cut using child-safe scissors
๐ Form letters or simple shapes
๐ Hide small objects and let your child dig them out
โฑ๏ธ Even 10โ15 minutes a day is enough.
Small, consistent activities make a BIG difference over time.
๐ฉต Reminder for parents:
You donโt need fancy materials or long lessons. Play is learning โ and progress matters more than perfection.
โจ Question for you:
What fine motor activity does your child enjoy the most at home?
