This is my experience with doing the somatic breathwork release in the 21-day challenge. At first, I had a vision of all these people surrounding me, pointing fingers and saying, “No, no, no, no,” and yelling at me as if I were not allowed to speak my voice—as if I had to believe, think, and speak as they told me to. Then I went into a deeper part where I realized: I’m a whole person all by myself. I can be who I want to be, and my voice and I matter. After that, it continued. As I did the breathwork, my legs started moving as if I were trying to run—like I was trying to run away. They were writhing back and forth, and my hands started shaking, but I stuck with the breathwork. As we went further into it, I envisioned who I want to be: happy, loved, abundant, and free. But here’s where it got really strange. Later, I went deeply into the question, “What am I here for?” It felt like the divine was telling me I am here to heal the family curse—the generational curse. After that, I could start to feel the feelings of my ancestors who had passed before me, including my grandmother, who was an alcoholic. She died before I was born and had been very abusive to my mother. This made it difficult for my mom to be a great mother because she didn’t know how to be one, and she had her own emotional issues due to the abuse she endured. Then I started to feel my grandmother’s feelings, and I began to cry. Tears came pouring out of me. I can’t even explain it, but it was like seeing this generational curse of heaviness and sadness that has cursed my family for generations being released. I felt that part of my mission was to break this generational curse for my family—that this is my job here on Earth—and to live abundantly. As we went further into it, I had a vision of myself on a mountaintop. Right after my mom died, when I was praying, God said to me that, in two years, I would be on a mountaintop in terms of how my life and everything would be going. So I had the vision of myself on top of this mountain. It was almost as though I had summited after climbing it, and a white dove came up and flew around my body. Later, when we were asked to speak to the divine—to God—and to be filled with love, the tears continued to flow. I thanked God, the Holy Spirit inside me, and myself because I’ve been through a lot in my life and have made it through so much. I released a lot of the generational trauma I had been carrying—trauma passed down through others, all the energy I had been carrying, through their actions, through how they treated me, and through burdens I carried that did not belong to me. At the end of the somatic breathwork, when we were able to come out of it, my body was so weak and shaky that it was all I could do to sit up. I had to go to the bathroom, but I couldn’t walk there. It took me a few minutes to get my legs working again. I have a lot to think about over the next few days because this experience was extremely intense. I will probably repeat it a few more times since the challenge is still available through VIP access.
