Okay I have a confession... I am obsessed with Swag I and II! Ever since Justin Bieber performed at the Grammy's I have been enthralled by what I was witnessing be released from him...
I was so inspired I wrote a little post about it...
I didn't realize Coachella was being live-streamed until last Saturday night around midnight in NYC and I knew Justin was headlining. I stumbled across the Strokes performing (fyi, they were so negative I didn't like them at first even though I am a fan of theirs) and I saw that Justin was next.
I can't explain it... I just knew I was witnessing something that would forever be this pivotal moment in time. It feels like it did in the 80's when we witnessed Michael Jackson do the moonwalk for the first time.
What the world is witnessing is much deeper than anyone has yet to put into words. Many have tried over the course of the last 5 days, but there are things shifting on every level, it's impossible for one person to see it all... and that's the thing... we all need each other to SEE!
Justin Bieber has grown up in front of us. Many have been brutal to him as he wrestled with fame and growing up with cameras surrounding him all the time. The media didn't cut him any slack.
But the thing about Justin is "I think he's special." And here is something else about Justin, he thinks he's special too! Justin brings that balance of having confidence in his talent but being humble enough to know there is always more room to grow. He has been one of the biggest pop stars for the last 17 years, yet he has always managed to meet people where they were at, and make them feel like he was just like them.
We've walked through eras, and decades that he has shaped. He was always in step with what was hot and insistently seeking out that new sound or striving to create something that hadn't been heard before.
We are all Justin in some way. Whether you liked him or not.
When he was first on the scene, I couldn't stand the whole Bieber fever thing. I was too cool for that little kid craziness and mobs of 15-year-old girls chasing him all over the world. But then I watched "Never say Never" with my nephew and realized how extremely talented Justin was.
The years that followed, I ended up in the same circles as his mother and was already in the circuit where running into Hailey's dad became a common encounter. I've prayed for these two children, Justin and Hailey, all these years now (I was praying for Hailey since she was a baby because I used to love Stephen Baldwin😂 true story!)
Even with all the love I have for them, it wasn't like I listened to Justin's music much, but then again, I didn't really listen to secular music for many years anyway.
I vaguely know what goes on in his world as I follow them on social media (but I'm not on consistantly) and I used to go to the same church as them when I lived in LA.
But really, I can't remember when I was like, "Yo, you have to listen to this Justin Bieber song!" Sure maybe I said he was talented, or "have you seen him drum?" That boy is a protege no doubt! but seriously, I can't remember ever telling someone they need to listen to a Justin Bieber song...
Then came the Grammy's... I was blown away. Justin's vocals were just the medicine my soul needed. I still have not stopped singing "Yukon" from the Grammy's. And the message... the message he was sending with a completely stripped down performance. He reminded us of who he is. He stood up on that stage alone, with just a mirror. The crowd of industry professionals were left stunned as he showcased one of his new songs from Swag by showing us all the Swag in his voice.
Those of you who don't know, Justin dropped not one but two new albums back in July and September 2025, respectively. Swag I and Swag II have 44 tracks!!! 44!
Then came April 11th, 2026 and Justin appeared on stage as if he was descending from a spaceship.... yes, that's right a genuine UFO! And for some reason, absolutely NO ONE is talking about it. It's obvious throughout the entire show that he welcomed us aboard his ship and into the control room (his laptop). I mean, this boy is genius on so many levels people can't keep up.... he runs circles around them just like the camera women did on stage with him during Daisies... DID YOU SEE HER AMAZING WORK?!?!? INSANE!!!
What Justin did was showcase HUMANS and their TALENT. I can't even begin to verbalize what he did in that first show... that's right, first, because there is a second one coming!!! Justin Bieber is raw human talent who was discovered on Youtube. And he continues to give everyone hope that their human talent is still needed and more valuable than Ai. Did you notice that? Not many people have.
What he did last Saturday night is beyond comprehension. He just opened up the door and invited everyone in on an inner child healing session. He sang, he danced, he hung out with friends (musical guests), he surfed the web, and he visited with his younger self in front of millions of people. He broke something open that we have yet to fully see the effects of.
Within hours of watching the show, I shared with a friend, who is a songwriter and singer, some of what I experienced... and he said, "everyone is saying it was the worst performance ever," I said, "those people just ain't clockin, because he is going to break records, mark my words." Here we are 5 days later and Justin continues to break records across the world and it's not even a week!
Justin is a threat to the system because he doesn't need them; they need him! He is showing us that we don't need "them"; they need us. Never say Never!
Okay, I'm a Belieber now I admit it... but for real, I have been listening to Swag non-stop. It is so good. I've been going to sleep to it as well, so relaxing.
What Justin is modeling is presence. He is making half the people uncomfortable about it, and the other half know they just witnessed something special.
People were comparing it to the over-the-top production of Sabrina Carpenter's show... I like Sabrina I really do I even had a Synchronicity with her song and video "Feathers" last year (see here https://www.skool.com/highvibetribe/your-one-day-is-here?p=f9c47693 ), but all due respect, Sabrina is where Justin was 10 years ago. Justin is evolving; he wants to go higher, and in his way, he is inviting us to go higher with him. Justin is showing us all what it's like to heal, and find yourself again and express yourself, regardless of what people are going to think.
In an era filled with Sabrina's, be a Justin! lol But for real, BE YOU! That's WHO YOU WERE CREATED TO BE! Not the smoke and mirrors, just you stripped down and raw. When the smoke is gone, and only a mirror remains, what will you see looking back at you? Who are you really behind all the masks? All the lies? All the makeup and all types of disguise?
Justin has taken us through the Looking Glass, get ready for Warp Speed ahead! What I witnessed felt like a book was being closed and whole new one being opened. Not a new chapter, an entire NEW BOOK!
Justin descending from a spaceship was almost like he was returning home, home to himself, and he is inviting us to do the same!
