New Year Duality

Most every year, things return to normal after the holidays. I don't just mean normal activities like work, school, the logistics of life. The normal day to day thoughts and feelings return. It becomes as if the holidays were just a dream one night. I am noticing that THIS year seems different.

In physical life and online I am noticing an unusual duality. Many people on their spiritual path are feeling an almost electric, joyous shift. There is a powerful feeling of global awakening and alignment that is usually not present. On the other hand, I am noticing that many other people are experiencing just the opposite. As the holidays pass on, they are feeling high degrees of anxiety, uncertainty even hopelessness. This is usually not the case either. Is anyone else seeing\feeling this years unusual duality?
