"Sometimes, I'm overwhelmed, but I don't know how to tell anyone."
Sometimes I get tired of being the person who always has everything under control.
The one who remembers what needs to be done.
The one who solves the problems.
The one who listens when everyone else needs to vent.
The one who somehow finds a way to get it all done.
But here's what I rarely say out loud...
Sometimes, I wish someone would notice that I'm struggling without me having to explain it.
Sometimes, I look around at everything that needs my attention, and I don't even know where to begin.
And sometimes, the smallest thing can bring me to tears. Not because that one thing is so terrible, but because it's sitting on top of everything else I've been carrying.
The hardest part? I feel guilty for being overwhelmed because I know there are people depending on me.
So I tell myself to push through, get it together, and keep going.
But I'm beginning to understand something.
Being overwhelmed doesn't mean I'm incapable. It means I'm human.
I don't have to prove my strength by carrying everything without help.
I don't have to feel guilty for needing a break.
And I certainly don't have to wait until I'm completely exhausted before admitting that I need one.
Sometimes the strongest thing we can say is, "I have a lot on my plate right now, and I need a little room to breathe."
I'm learning that rest isn't something I have to earn by finishing everything on my to-do list.
It's something I need so I can continue showing up as the woman God is helping me become. 💜
