Heading to Chicago soon
I am getting ready to head to Chicago at the end of April, I will be attending the H&H wholesale show and also the Fiber & Fabric Festival - will any of you be there at all?
A learning
Like lots of crafters, I keep photos of my projects. They are good reminders of friends, events and projects completed. Recently I discovered that my Project photos folder was missing. I kept my Projects folder on an external drive, backed up the drive daily to another drive and then did a monthly back up. But the Projects folder was gone on all of them. I was able to find a copy of the Projects folder on an old external drive but I am missing several years of projects. I now keep a copy of the Projects folder on my Macbook so the Time Machine back up keeps a copy. I also have a copy on an external thumb drive. Disappointing to lose some of the photos but a good learning.
Graduation Quilt
I just wanted to share a quilt I made for my granddaughter's high school graduation quilt. She sent me a sketch of what she wanted last August. It took me a bit to figure out how to get the center part figured out. I used EQ8 to create the spiral border. I found pictures of the two mountains that are in the Flathead valley in NW Montana. They are Columbia on the right and Teakettle on the left. They are the gateway to Glacier National Park. We lived right below Tea Kettle for 32 years before we retired and moved to Oklahoma. She had been to the ocean the year before and specifically wanted to have it in the quilt. That was a challenge to be sure! From sketch to finish, it took me a little over 9 months to make this quilt. Here is the sketch and the finished quilt with my granddaughter standing next to it. She loved it which made me very happy!

Thank you!!!
Thank you SusanClaire for your great videos. I used your binding and quilt as you go videos to make the quilt that shows animals we have seen. I really appreciate you and your videos. I am a beginning quilter and your videos clearly demostrate what to do. I got the machine embroidery files from various sources-a few I modified for design as well as color. I used the Embird machine embroidery program to do the quilting around the design. I have also used to videos to make some great placemats for my family. Thank you!!! Diane
Thank you!!!
