What am I missing?

I noticed it first on my birthday post...thought it was a fun start to counting the gifs I asked for. But then I saw it on more posts...AND NOW I SEE IT EVERYWHERE! Why do you all comment 1 as first comment? What it this about? What am I missing? Feel like I accidently joined a game, but nobody explained the rules to me 🤣😱😶‍🌫️
