I've been creating a new video this week for my Youtube audience and it involved a driving instructor who came to me a few years back completely stuck.
He'd set up his Google Business Profile, got some reviews, and then just left it. Sound familiar?
A month went by.
Nothing.
Two months.
Nothing.
Meanwhile a competitor with half his reviews was fully booked every week.
The problem wasn't his reviews. It was that he had no idea what Google was actually rewarding, so he was guessing. And guessing on Google Maps is expensive, not in money but in the calls you never get.
We spent a few months together. Got the right offers in place, optimised his photos to speak directly to university students looking to learn to drive. His bookings shot up. So much so he hasn't needed me since, and he's still getting business today without spending a penny on ads.
Here are the three things most owners get wrong and leave unoptimised:
- Photos — are they optimised for your ideal customer or just random shots of your business?
- Offers — does your profile give a buying customer a clear reason to choose you over the competitor next to you?
- Keywords — are they reflecting genuine customer questions or just your own industry language?
Pick one of those three and tell me where you're at with it in the comments.
Happy to give you a quick steer in the right direction.
