The downside to GHK-Cu
A few years ago, I stopped coloring my hair. I was 50 and still get a lot of compliments on it. At the same time, I started seeing a 10% discount on my receipt at our local Kings grocery store. I thought everyone got that on Tuesday, until one of the young cashiers announced loudly one day that it was my "senior discount." I came home feeling a certain kind of way about it but laughed it off and just accepted the discount. I figured they gave it to everyone with silver hair. Today, after six weeks of GHK-Cu, they stopped giving it to me. On the one hand, I'm happy it's working, but now I have to pay full price. 🤣🤣🤣

🧬 PEPTIDE OF THE WEEK: THYMOSIN ALPHA-1 (TA-1)
Ladies, this week we’re diving into a fascinating research peptide: Thymosin Alpha-1, often shortened to TA-1. If you’ve heard people describe TA-1 as an “immune peptide,” there’s a reason for that. Researchers have been studying it for its relationship with the immune system and immune regulation. 🔬 WHAT IS THYMOSIN ALPHA-1? Thymosin Alpha-1 is a peptide originally identified from thymosin fraction 5, a preparation associated with the thymus. And the thymus is important because it plays a major role in the development and function of T cells — immune cells that help your body recognize and respond to threats. 🛡️ WHY ARE RESEARCHERS INTERESTED IN IT? Research involving TA-1 has explored areas including: • T-cell function • Immune-system signaling • Innate and adaptive immune responses • Inflammatory regulation • Immune responses during certain infections and illnesses • How immune function changes with age One of the things I find especially interesting is that TA-1 is generally discussed in research as an immune modulator rather than simply an “immune booster.” Think of modulation as helping study how the immune system communicates and regulates itself, rather than just trying to turn everything up. 👩‍🔬 WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THIS AFTER 40? The immune system changes as we age, and the thymus itself gradually becomes less active over time. That makes thymus-related peptides and immune aging an incredibly interesting area of research. This DOES NOT mean TA-1 has been proven to reverse immune aging or that someone should take it for that purpose. We’re learning the science and separating what researchers are actually investigating from the claims we sometimes see online. ⭐ THIS WEEK’S TAKEAWAY When you hear Thymosin Alpha-1, remember: THYMUS → T CELLS → IMMUNE REGULATION That little connection will make TA-1 much easier to remember. 👇 Have you heard of Thymosin Alpha-1 before, or is this your first introduction to it? For educational and research discussion only. This post is not medical advice or an individualized treatment recommendation.
